BLOODY GOOD PERIOD
Bloody Good Period is a charity fighting period poverty - especially for women with refugee status. I feel strongly about using my skills as a designer towards a social end, so it's been great to work with BGP.
Their key aim was to be fun and vibrant, while maintain the BGP brand. I wanted to adopt a sarcastic tone to emphasise my own anger towards period poverty. My poster can be seen on their Instagram page.
For this piece of BGP work, the charity wanted to stray away from their more traditional pink and red palette. They also asked for the work to aid the normalisation of periods.
I decided to create a yellow newspaper/pamphlet for its roots in activism (particularly Old Labour's strikes in the 80's) and address the subject quite aggressively. I thought bold typography would be best suited to convey the charity's message rather than an illustration.
Bloody Good Period commissioned me to design some imagery for their Employers Survey about periods in the workplace. They wanted something in a similar vein to the yellow 'Periodical' newspaper I'd produced previously, so I decided to hand print all the lettering
to create a similar grungy aesthetic.
