THE BRIEF

I wanted to make something a bit more special for my Dad's birthday.

He's a huge Blade Runner fan, so I thought it would be fun to combine the aesthetics of Blade Runner with his more everyday love of Cornflakes.

INSPIRATION

I've often sought inspiration from sci-fi film posters and book covers, so it was fun to delve deeper into the grunge and gloom in Cinema 4D.

I focused on creating a dynamic feeling poster within a glossy, damp environment. The lighting and shadows were particularly fun to experiment with.

The final product isn't as spoof-like as I originally intended, but he liked it all the same.

A NIGHT INSIDE

Cinema4D and Blender experiment

Towerblock blend.jpg

This piece is based off a composition I sketched out a few years ago.

I built the tower block through watching a YouTube tutorial, which helped me get to grips with extrusions and more precise modelling.

I went through a lot of variations for this as I found the textures and lighting quite challenging, but I'm pleased with the result.

TODAY

A remix of my 'Utopia' poster using different Cinema4D techniques, made in one evening.
